Overnight Lock-In Supplemental Plan  –

Additions to Climb Kalamazoo’s COVID Management Plan

  • Limit 25 guests in the building during a lock in session. Lock ins will be exclusive, limit one booking and no daytime guests or members will be allowed to stay past 8pm when there is a lock in scheduled.

  • Training groups of less than 10, preferably same households and car pools will be grouped together.

  • Training sessions may be broken into different segments so everyone is not grouped together.

  • Instructors strive to maintain distancing, but in certain brief instances when distance of less than 3 feet is maintained (such as a rappel instructor, or if a brake rope needs an emergency backup) instructors will wear a face shield in addition to their face mask. A face shield is a supplemental, not a replacement for the required face mask.

  • If a person needs fresh air, they can go to the front door and step out to get a break from their face mask. Masks are required at all times in the building, except when fully separated in sleeping areas.

  • Staff will give friendly reminders if face masks are not fitting properly (nose exposed, etc) and if it’s problematic staff can provide a mask that fits better.

  • Food should be served individually, and not buffet style. Food should be consumed in shifts, providing that table areas have not more than two persons per table. Guests should wash hands before and after eating.

  • Sleeping areas should be arranged more than 6 feet apart, in a head to toe arrangement. Masks are not required while sleeping. Masks are required when a person gets up from their sleeping area, such as a bathroom trip, etc… Floor is marked with pink dots every 6 feet in each direction.

Staff will contact the troop leader one week before an event to review plans, provide any updates and answer any questions.
